Janie Motsinger

Hello My Name Is...

Janie Motsinger

Motsinger

I am the PE teacher at Davis-Townsend and Tyro Elementary School.  I am also one of the assistant softball coaches at West Davidson High School.  I am a graduate of Ledford High School Class of 2001.  I am very fortunate that I am able to teach in the county I grew up in!!  I was hired in 2006 by Davidson County Schools as a lateral-entry elementary PE teacher. I worked at Reeds, Churchland, and Friedberg Elementary School while I took education classes at High Point University at night so I could receive my teaching license and pass the PE Praxis II test.  I was also an assistant volleyball and softball coach for my first 5 years and now I just coach softball at West Davidson High School.

I graduated from Catawba College in the Fall of 2005 with a double major in Physical Education and Recreational Therapy.  I also played softball all 4 years while I was there.

My main goal in my Physical Education classes I teach is to make sure that all of my students are getting exercise and having fun!!  I feel like that is what PE is all about in Elementary School!

I am looking forward to this school year teaching your child/children, and if there is anything I can assist you and/or your child/children with please do not hesitate to let me know!
