Hello, My Name Is…

Jennifer Welborn

My name is Jennifer Welborn, and I teach kindergarten at Davis Townsend. I have three wonderful sons named Conner, Aiden, and Parker. I am originally from Pennsylvania, and when I was 10 years old, my family moved to Medford, New Jersey, where I lived until I graduated from high school. I continued my education at Bloomsburg University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education. I moved to Lexington, North Carolina in 1998. I taught K-5 Special Education and Kindergarten at Southwood Elementary in the Davidson County School system for six years. During that time, I continued my education at High Point University, where I added a license in Elementary Education. In 2006, I started teaching kindergarten at Southwest Elementary in Lexington City Schools and continued until 2014. This is my twenty-third-year teaching and my ninth year with Davidson County Schools. I hope your child will have a year full of growth, both academically and socially. It is my sincere expectation that each student feels cared for and very important. I want the best for each and every child in my care.
